Dr. Shynda F. Miles

Dr. Miles was raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area. She developed a love for the field of medicine through volunteer work while in junior high school. After graduating from high school, she obtained her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s six year medical program, an advanced program that combines undergraduate and graduate work in the field of medicine. Upon graduating from UMKC, she trained in Internal Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Sinai and Johns Hopkins Hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland. She is board certified in PM&R.
After residency, she returned to the Midwest. Her first practice was established in Joplin, Missouri. After almost five years there, she moved back to the Kansas City, Missouri area to be closer to family. Currently, she is in private practice in Leawood, Kansas and is the Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services at Meadowbrook Hospital in Gardner, Kansas.
Dr. Miles brings a holistic approach to her practice of medicine. She believes that the body, mind, and spirit have to work together in order for patients to reach their maximum potential of healing. She strives to treat each patient like family.
Debbie is the HR Director at Meadowbrook with over 25 years of experience. She is responsible for planning, developing, and directing the administration of all HR functions. She has proven success in creating cultures of collaboration and implementing change to achieve workforce excellence through technology, compliance and talent management. Prior to joining Meadowbrook, Debbie held a variety of HR leadership positions in multiple industries including 21 years at Hallmark Cards, Inc., food wholesalers, public education, healthcare, construction, and the legal industry. She was a co-owner in several grocery stores located in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Debbie possesses experience in all facets of human resources including recruitment, employee relations, training, benefits, payroll and managing change. Her passion is providing exemplary customer service to our employees and patients.
Dr. Leif E. Leaf, PH.D.
Dr. Leif Leaf is a licensed psychologist specializing in Clinical Neuropsychology, Rehabilitation Psychology and Family Counseling. He has over 25 years of experience working with individuals and families who have experienced traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation needs. He is a Neuropsychology/Psychology Consultant at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital, Director of Counseling Services at Lenexa Baptist Church, and has a private practice.
Dr. Leaf has been a Psychological/Medical Consultant for the Social Security Administration for the past 15 years. He has served as a Surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities for the past 27 years. He was also in private practice in Nevada, Illinois and Missouri.
Dr. Leaf is the co-author of the book Traumatic Brain Injury: Cause, Consequences and Challenges and Susan’s Dad – A Child’s Story of Brain Injury and other articles related to rehabilitation and brain injury. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and past President of the Kansas and Nevada Brain Injury Associations.
Meghan is a Clinical Liaison at Meadowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation. Her role is to ensure that all transfers happen smoothly for patients and their teams. She serves as a facilitator for local physicians, keeping them informed, equipped and supported in order to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Traumatic Brain Injury Liaison
Brenton is a Clinical Liaison at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital who resides in the Wichita, KS market. His role is primarily to ensure a smooth transition for all Traumatic Brain Injury and qualified Brain Injury Waiver patients. He serves as a facilitator for local physicians, case managers, and social workers at hospitals and clinics, keeping them informed, equipped and supported in order to provide exceptional care and rehabilitation to our patients.
